Embryo series
The series of concrete sculptures in the form of animal embryos is a visual metaphor for the fragility of life in the face of human consumption. Unborn, defenseless beings are encased in stone, frozen in a moment between existence and disappearance.
Their forms are soft and vulnerable, yet the material is harsh and heavy, a reminder of the cruelty of reality. These embryos symbolize an unseen suffering—one that begins long before it becomes apparent.
But looking at them, one cannot help but notice: in the early stages of development, humans are strikingly similar to those they have come to regard as food, raw material, or resources. This shared form holds a deep irony—the boundary that separates us from “others” is nothing more than an illusion. Perhaps recognizing this similarity is the first step toward empathy, one that has the power to change the world.
